Summer Tanager
Summer Tanager is a rare vistor to Lycoming County, with six known records. The species is on the Pennsylvania review list. Photos were taken of a Summer Tanager visiting a suet feeder in Nisbet on 5/18/2011. Two separate (plumage differences) Summer Tanagers were found a few days apart in May 2016 at Canfield Island and Mill St., which are only about a mile from each other. Each of those records were first-spring male birds. An adult male visited a feeder in Linden in May 2019, and a first-spring male was found at Mill St. shortly after. A female visited a feeder in Williamsport on 5/14/2020.
