About Us
LycoBirds is run by brothers Bobby and David Brown. We created this website to serve as a resource about the birds of the Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. We now provide a growing set of educational tools and resources for a broader range of birders, especially in the Northeastern United States.
We launched LycoBirds in 2016, and we are really proud of how the website has grown alongside our YouTube channel. We don't have a team — it's really just the two of us producing everything you see on LycoBirds.
But as a small operation, we could use your support to help cover the costs we have in maintaining all of our systems — and also to help us be able to expand and improve what we create. So, if you enjoy our work and want to see more (and better) in the future, please consider supporting our efforts. We are extremely grateful to our supporters who have contributed in the past, and we hope to be able to continue our work for many years into the future!
Bobby is a full-time web developer and a very active eBirder. His main birding interests are raptors and vocalizations. He is also the Lycoming County compiler for the Pennsylvania Birds journal. He can be contacted at bobby@lycobirds.com.
David is a professional hawk watch coordinator who has worked at Braddock Bay Raptor Research, Ashland Nature Center and Montclair Hawk Lookout. He is also a Lycoming Audubon Society board member. He regularly leads local bird walks and has written articles about birds for the Williamsport Sun-Gazette. He can be contacted at david@lycobirds.com.
