Sandhill Crane
Sandhill Cranes seem to be increasingly common in Pennsylvania, and although they are still rare in Lycoming County, at least a few likely migrate through the county each year. There are occasional records from March through May, but many birds are likely missed. 2017 had three separate sightings of the species, including a very cooperative bird at South Williamsport Park that stayed for over a week. The species nests in adjacent counties.
