Waterfowl
A female Ring-necked Duck was at Rose Valley Lake on 6/3 (BB). A male Bufflehead was at Rose Valley Lake 6/24-7/16 (BB, et al.), and a female was at Little Pine State Park 6/2-7/17 (BB, DB, RB, DeB, BoB, et al.).
Cranes and Rails
Two Virginia Rails were heard at SGL 75 on 6/15 (AS, OS) and one was along Upper Bodines Rd. on 6/16 (DanB, DF). A Sora was at SGL 68 on 7/24 (JD, DR), and two were at SGL 75 the same day (JD, DR). An injured American Coot was found in a swimming pool in Jersey Shore on 6/11 (CP).
Shorebirds
An American Avocet was found at the Williamsport Dam on 7/17 (KS, et al.), providing the fifth record of that species in Lycoming County. Two early migrant Lesser Yellowlegs were near Muncy on 7/20 (BB, DeB, BoB, RB), and two more were at SGL 252 on 7/30 (BB, AK).
Gulls and Terns
An immature Herring Gull was at the Williamsport Dam on 7/17 (BB, et al.). A group of 7 Caspian Terns dropped in at the Williamsport Dam on 6/16 (BB, DB).
Herons, Ibis and Allies
A landowner near Muncy reported a juvenile White Ibis around 7/18, and it was confirmed by birders 7/20-21 (BB, et al.), providing the second Lycoming County record of the species.
Woodpeckers
A pair of Red-headed Woodpeckers were reported at SGL 75 on 6/16 (AS).
Vireos
A White-eyed Vireo was heard singing at James E. Short Park on 6/1 (EvH).
Finches
There were a number of Red Crossbill reports in the western part of the county. One was at SGL 68 on 7/17 (JK, AR). The remainder of the reports came from Haneyville, beginning on 7/21 (DBi) and continuing at least into August (m.obs.).
Warblers
Cerulean Warblers were in Slate Run during June (BB, DB, RB, DeB, BoB, et al.).
