They are Great Blue Herons!

Note the distinctive heron/egret shape, with long legs trailing behind and the head tucked in close to the body. Great Blue Heron and Green Heron are the only expected dark herons at the location, and the very lanky proportions and apparent large size, along with the general color pattern, fit Great Blue much better. Migrants often fly high overhead in groups like this.
