Lime Bluff Recreation Area
Overview
Lime Bluff Recreation Area is a park near Hughesville that is managed by the East Lycoming Recreation Authority.
The park also has a disc golf course, pavilions, and a softball field.
Directions
From S Main Street (405) at the southern end of Hughesville near McDonald's head northwest on Elm Drive. In a half mile turn left into the entrance of the park. In the winter when the gate is shut, pull off near it. When the gate is open following the winding road back to the parking areas.
Species of Note
Eastern Bluebird
Nest in the Lycoming Audubon bluebird trail here.
Tree Swallow
Also nest in bluebird boxes and often perch on power lines in large numbers.
Willow Flycatcher
This location is a very reliable spot to find Willow Flycatchers. The eBird all-time high-count for the species in Lycoming County is from this location.
